Vincent dePaul Gisriel, Jr. is the first born to Martha and Vince Gisriel, Sr. Vince Jr. was born during World War II in 1944, while his father was overseas. In 1962, the author graduated from Loyola High School in Towson, Maryland. From there, he attended the University of Baltimore, where he graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. While attending college, Vince Jr. enlisted in the Maryland Army National Guard and served from 1964 to 1970. He was a company clerk in an infantry brigade headquarters company.

In 1968, Vince was married to his wife, Bonnie. They have four sons, two daughters and 14 grandchildren.

On January 1st, 2010, the author retired from state service. He was employed with the State of Maryland for 39 years. For over 28 years, he served as an assessor, appraising real property. He also served as an elected City Councilman for the Town of Ocean City, Maryland for 14 years.

While Vince Gisriel Jr. always thought about writing a book, he never envisioned writing this particular book. This story literally fell in his lap and he could not walk away from it.
